Girls love to make
pretty things to wear. This headband is a wonderful craft which will
give your child some time outdoors and allow her to make a pretty
headband to wear. Collect leaves from trees with their stems. Choose
long rectangular shaped leaves which are fresh as you do not want them
to break easily.
Collect enough to leaves to go around the head. Carefully snip or
break off the stems and set them aside. Lay the leaves upside down
(shiny side down) and overlap as shown. With a sharp pencil or
scissors tip, cut two small holes through both leaves. Use the
stems to pin the two leaves together.
Put enough leaves together to fit around the head; then attach the
last two leaves so that the leaves are facing right side up (shiny
side up).
Glue small flowers to the leaves to decorate.
