You can easily make
petals from fabric remnants without sewing each individual petal.
Using a basting thread, you can assemble petals to make a number of
items; purse, cushion cover, and more.
Cut a square piece of cloth.
Make it as large or as small as you wish.
Fold in half corner to corner.
Fold in half again.
The bottom edges are the
selvedges.
Lay the petals on a backing
slightly overlapping and run a basting thread through the selvedge
edges.
The petals can be laid in a
square or circular.
Insert between a fabric seam.
Lap several layers to make a square or circular cushion cover.
Line to make a purse.
In the centre
sew a button, pearl or piece of fabric.
