Crochet this
lovely belt which can be made in many different colours to go with
casual T-shirts or your summer dress. Basic dresses or blouses are
all you need to create a wardrobe. Your basic dress can be
suitable for casual, dinner or evening wear just by changing the
accessories.

Most doily and
placemat patterns are crochet, it is hard to find knit patterns.
This lovely knit mat has a lace edging so it can be used to
decorate or as a placemat. I have put together a book of Knit
Doilies patterns reproduced from old pattern books.
One doily is quite unique as it is designed to be blocked in different
shapes.
I have begun to
list reproductions of my collection of vintage pattern books for
Clothing; knit dresses, sweaters, suits and blouses
from the 1930’s and 1940’s. Please be careful before you begin knitting one of these
vintage outfits. The sizes have changed considerably in the
present day. A size 12 in the 1940’s was quite different from a
modern day size 12. Look at the bust measurement given and check
your tension before starting.
Earrings from
Lace Trimmed Buttons
Sometimes, the simplest things can be very dramatic.
This short article from a
Workbook magazine caught my
imagination. A very clever lady from the 1950's thought of a way
to make earrings from old buttons and a tatted round. They could
also be made using very fine crochet thread and making a round
with picot edges. These simple, lovely decorations could be used
on so many items: place cards at dinner, set onto napkin rings,
used as faux buttons on pockets, purses, belts, etc. Attach to
hair bands or barrettes. Run a fine chain through one picot for a
delicate necklace. Glue to your plain shoes. Make elegant wine
glass charms. The possibilities are endless.
