Winter has arrived here; the deep freeze. It is -25 and
snowing. I live on a lake and this weekend, our community has
the "Polar Plunge". A big hole is opened in a shallow part of
the lake. People dress up in crazy costumes and jump in to
raise money for their favourite charity. I have never done
this and I am sure I never will but there are people who do
this every year and every year there are new people who give
it a try.

Make something for
yourself or family or a friend. Knit this collar to attach to your
sweaters, blouses, or even sweatshirts. Crochet a head scarf in
knot stitch.
This is a tip I
use. I make my own napkin rings from wide ribbon with wire
edging. Using my glue gun, I attach a fabric or plastic
decoration; holly for Christmas, flowers for spring and summer
deck dinners, fall coloured leaves for Thanksgiving. I never
have to worry about having enough matching napkin rings and
they always match the occasion or my table setting. Very easy
to make and they always receive a compliment.
Just A Joke
A student was
trying hard to make a good impression in her English class.
When the professor asked: "What book would you choose if you
could have only one?", she hesitated and then replied, "A
checkbook".
Make your own
fabric or leather gloves and decorate as you wish; embroidery,
ornamental stitching, applique, beads, buttons, sequins.
