Crochet a pair of booties
for baby using baby yarn in a single colour or two different colours. The
bootee is crocheted with simple stitches; sc for the bottom half and
scalloped dc for the cuff. Lace a cord through the cuff and tie in a bow.
Attach tassels or pom poms if you wish.
A lacey scalloped edging to knit with centre reminiscent of flower petals for use on towels,
sheets and pillowcases, clothing or afghans. Use fine cotton thread and
needles to create a delicate edging or use larger needles and heavier yarn
to edge afghans, blankets or towels.
Medallions made with tatting shuttle can be used separately or finished
with chains of crochet and joined to create edging. The size is easily
adjustable by changing the thread size. Various colour combinations are
possible; white, ecru or variegated thread an be used, or alternate the
motif colours or use one colour for the motifs and add the crochet in a
different colour. Use the motifs separately to decorate hand towels,
lapels, pockets or other accessories.
Children can easily
make many different finger puppets using construction paper and fabric
remnants. The puppet can
be a person, an animal, a monster, a space person or anything else a
child can imagine. Make a folding puppet theater from cardboard to put
on a puppet show. Once the puppet theater is made, it can be put away
for a rainy day to keep children busy for hours. Children are very
creative and can make a large assortment of finger puppets to tell
many different stories.
