Materials: |
25 yards size 20 crochet
cotton for bib
10 yards size 20 crochet thread for the edging (knit or crochet)
Pair of size 2 knitting needles
Size 6 or 7 crochet hook
20" ribbon to thread through beading

Cast on 21 sts and k one row.
Next Row: K 10 tightly, pick up lp of ridge below, k lp, k next st,
pick up same lp and k it, k 11.
K
2 rows even.
Next Row: K 11, pick up lp of ridge below, k lp, k next st, pick up
same lp and k, k 11.
K
next 2 rows even.
Continue increasing 2 sts in the middle lp on every third row until there
are 51 sts on needle.
K
last row; bind off.
To Make Beading:
Join thread at right top edge of bib, with crochet hook, ch 10, cut
thread. Join thread at top left hand corner, ch 15, turn, dc in 5th ch
from hook, * ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch; repeat from * across. Run
ribbon through beading.
Knitted Edging:
Join thread at top left hand corner of bib, pick up and k one st on
edge of bib, * cast on 2 sts, bind off 2 sts (this forms a picot);
transfer st remaining to left hand needle. Repeat from * two more times. K
and bind off 2 sts on edge, transfer st remaining to left hand needle,
cast on 2 sts, bind off 2 sts, k and bind off 2 sts on bib edge. Transfer
st remaining to left hand needle; repeat this edging around bib.

Crocheted Edging:
Join thread at top left hand corner of bib, * ch 4, sl st back in
first ch to form a picot, repeat from * twice, sk 2 sts along edge of bib.
Continue around bib to right top edge, ch 10, break off.
