A very easy belt to crochet for the
beginner. The belt can be made wider by adding stitches in odd numbers and
the length is adjustable. Use metallic thread for a dressy look, bright
colours, pastels, white or ecru to complement your wardrobe. Add a
purchased belt buckle in plain or fancy design or recycle an existing
buckle by replacing the belt.
Chain 21,
turn.
Row 1: Sc in
2nd ch from hook, * ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch.
Repeat from * to end of row.
Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: Sc under
ch-1 loop of previous row, ch 1.
Repeat from * making the last sc under the turning ch-2.
Ch 2, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until the belt is as long as you wish.
Be careful to keep the edges even.
Cut thread and draw the free end through the loop and fasten off securely.
Insert one end of the belt over the centre of a purchased belt buckle,
fold over and sew together.
