Materials:
Bead with large hole for head
12" pipe cleaners - 1 for body and 1 for legs
Felt or stiff non-fraying fabric
Sequins or glitter for decorations
Safety pin
Make a brooch or decoration for a child
resembling a cute bug with wings. Print the pattern large or small to make
the size you wish. Use pipe cleaners for the body, bead for the head, and
felt or stiff, non-fraying fabric for wings. Decorate with sequins or
glitter. An easy project for kids crafts or adults without sewing.
1. Paint a cute face on a wooden bead for the head.
2. Bend a 12 inch pipe cleaner back two inches. Wind
loosely back of the doubled piece to form the tail and continue to
wing tightly to form the body.
3. Cut a 12" pipe cleaner into three 4" pieces. Use
two pieces for the legs. Wind each around the body and through the pin
and twist to secure it to the body.
4. Cut wings from pattern and decorate.
5. Fold the third pipe cleaner in half. Loop it around
the base of the tail and criss cross over the wings, and through the
hole in the bead. Bend to form feelers.
