To change colours when crocheting, pick
up the second colour and work off the last two loops of the stitch,
then continue in the second colour, working over the first colour.
Change to the main colour in the same way and work over the coloured
thread. |
Crochet this cute pot holder or hot plate
mat decorated with bunnies for Easter or to decorate your kitchen in a
country theme. Vary the size of crochet thread to make the potholder or
mat larger or smaller.
Ch 6 in MC, join with sl st in first ch
to form a ring.
Rnd 1: 10 sc in ring, join. Work in back lp only.
Rnd 2: (3 sc in 1 sc, sc in next) repeated around (15 sc) join.
Always make the 3 sc inc in centre sc of 3 sc inc in previous rnd.
Rnd 3: Sc in sc, (3 sc in sc for an inc, sc in each of next 3 sc)
repeated around, join.
Rnd 4: Sc in sc, (3 sc in next, sc in each of next 5 sc) repeated
around.
Rnd 5: Sc in sc, (3 sc in next, sc in each of next 7 sc) repeated
around.
Rnd 6: Sc in sc, * 3 sc in next, sc in each of next 3 sc, change to
CC, sc in each of next 3 sc, with MC sc in each of next 3 sc, repeat from
* around.
Continue, following chart, until pot holder is completed. Fasten and cut
thread.
Make a second piece for the back, omitting the pattern.
Place the front and back pieces together with right sides out.
Join colour in one corner, through both pieces, ch 4, sc in every 4th sc,
catching through both lps on front and back (12 lps across each section),
repeat around.
Join and fasten off.
