Cross: In color, begin at lower tip of
cross, ch 8, sl st in first st of ch to form ring, fill ring with sc and
join.
Join white, ch 3 (for a dc), (3 dc, ch 2,
3 dc) in next sc, 1 dc in next sc, * ch 3, turn, shell of 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc
over center of previous shell, dc in top st of end ch of previous row.
Repeat from * until 16 shell rows have been worked, fasten off after dc in
end st of previous row.
Arms of Cross - Join thread in 11th ch-3
from the beginning, ch 3, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) over next ch 3, dc over next
ch 3, turn. * Ch 3, turn, shell over center of shell just worked, dc in
end st of previous row. Repeat from * until 4 shells have been made;
fasten off.
Work arm on opposite side to correspond
with that just worked.
Edge: Join color at bottom of ring, where
1 dc is worked, sc in each free sc of ring, 3 sc over each ch-3 or dc
around cross. In working across arms, make ps (sc, ch 3, sc in same place)
at tip of arms and upper part of cross (center and on each side) as shown
in illustration.
