Crochet a pretty lacy doily with a diamond
pattern.
Round 1: Ch 8, join to form a ring.
Ch 8, tr in ring, (ch 4, tr in ring) 5 times, ch 4, sl st in 4th ch of ch
8.Round 2: * Sc into ch 4,
ch 2, make 5 dc into same ch 4, ch 2, sc into same ch. Repeat from *
around and join with sl st.
Round 3: Ch 13, dtr between next
scallops, (ch 8, dtr between next two scallops) 5 times, ch 8, sl st in
5th ch of ch 13.
Round 4: * Sc into ch 8, ch 1,
make 2 dc, 7 tr, 2 dc, ch 1 and sc into same ch 8. Repeat from * around
and join with a sl st.
Round 5: Ch 11, dc in centre tr of
scallop, * ch 7, tr between next 2 scallops, ch 7, dc in centre tr of next
scallop. Repeat from * around, join with a sl st.
Round 6: Sl st to 4th ch or centre
of ch 7, ch 13, tr into next 7-ch, (ch 9, tr into next 7-ch) 12 times, ch
9, sl st into 4th ch of ch 13.
Round 7: Ch 9, * tr into ch 9, ch
5, tr in tr, ch 5. Repeat from * around.
Round 8: Sl st to third ch of ch
5, ch 10, tr into next ch 5, (ch 6, tr into next ch 5) 26 times, ch 6, sl
st in 4th ch of ch 5.
Round 9: Sl st over three chs of
ch 6, ch 5, tr into same ch, * ch 6, tr into next ch 5, ch 6, make 2 tr
with ch 1 between into next ch 5. Repeat from * and join last 6 ch to top
of ch at beginning.
Round 10: Sl st into ch 1, ch 4
always counts as first tr, * 4 tr in ch 1 sp, ch 6, tr in next tr, ch 6.
Repeat from * and with a sl st join last ch 6 to top of ch 4.
Round 11: * A 4 tr shell in first
tr, sk 2 tr, 4 tr shell in last tr, ch 5, tr in tr, ch 5. Repeat from *
around and join.
Round 12: * 4 tr shell in first tr,
a 4 tr shell between shells and a 4 tr shell in last tr of group, ch 4, tr
in tr, ch 4. Repeat from *.
Round 13: Work 4 shells in each
group with ch 5 between.
Round 14: Work 5 shells with ch 3
between.
Round 15: Work 6 shells with no ch
between.
Round 16: Sl st over first shell -
work shells between shells only from now on, thus you narrow by one each
rnd, ch 9 between groups.
Round 17: 4 shells this rnd, ch 8,
sc in ch 9 lp, ch 8, continue around.
Round 18: * Make 3 shells on
motif, ch 8, sc in ch 8-lp, ch 9, sc in next ch 8 lp, ch 8. Repeat from *
around.
Round 19: * 2 shells on motifs, ch
8, sc in ch 8 lp, (ch 9, sc in next lp) twice, ch 8. Repeat from * around.
Round 20: One shell on motif, ch 9
lps and sc into lps between.
Round 21, 22: Sl st to 5th ch of
ch 9, make ch 10 lps around.
Round 23: Sl to 5th ch of ch 10,
sc under same ch, for the small shell between the lps, ch 2, 3 dc in sc,
ch 2, sl st in same sc, ch 11, sc in lps. Repeat shell and ch around;
fasten and cut thread.
