Crochet a matching set of doilies with flower centre made in four colours to match your decor. The doilies; one square doily and one rectangular doily, can be used on a vanity, placemats and centrepiece set, or as a table runner and end table set.

Flower:
In yellow, ch 2, 8 sc in first st, sl st in back lp of first sc, ch 3 to count as a dc, 3 dc in same st, remove hook, insert it in ch st preceding first dc, catch lp and pull through (pc st made), (ch 3, pc st) 7 times more; ch 3, sl st to first pc st; fasten off.

Join light blue over any ch-3, * (2 sc, ch 14, 2 sc) in same ch-3 sp; repeat from * around; join with sl to first sc.

Next Row: * (3 sc, 2 hdc, 11 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc) in ch-14 lp, 2 sc between petals, repeat from * around; fasten off.

Join dark blue with a sl st between two petals, * sl st in first sc on petal, (ch 1, sl st in next sc) around petal, sl st between petals, repeat from * around; fasten off.

Make two flowers for large piece, joining flowers by one petal of each with a sl st made at outer edge of last petal of second flower. Make one flower for each small piece.

Large Piece:
Row 1: Sk 2 petals from the one joined, join white in tip of next petal, ch 5, dc in same place, * ch 13, sc in next petal, ch 13, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next petal (corner shell), ch 13, sc in next petal, ch 12, thread over hook four times, insert hook in centre of next petal, (thread over, work off 2 lps) twice, thread over twice, insert hook in centre of next free petal on next flower, thread over, work off 2 lps at a time until st is completely worked off (a joined tr tr), ch 12, sc in next petal, ch 13, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next petal. Repeat from * around; join last ch-13 with sl st to third st of ch-5.

Row 2: (Ch 3, 1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same corner shell, * (ch 2, sk two ch sts, dc in next ch st) repeat to next corner shell, ch 2, shell in shell; repeat from * around; join to top of ch-3.

Row 3: Sl st to centre of shell, ch 3 (counts as a dc), (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in centre of shell, * (ch 5, sc in next dc) to corner shell, ch 5, shell in corner shell, repeat from * around; join to top of ch-3.

Row 4: Sl st to centre of shell, shell in shell, * (ch 3, dc in next lp) to corner, ch 3, shell in corner shell, repeat from * around; join to top of ch-3.

Row 5: Ch 3, dc in second dc of shell, * shell in shell, sk 1 dc, dc in each of next 2 dc, (3 dc in ch sp, dc in dc) to corner, dc in first 2 dc of shell, repeat from * around; join to top of ch-3; fasten off.

Row 6: Join yellow in centre of shell, (ch 3 to begin, pc st, ch 6, pc st) in centre of shell, * (ch 3, sk 2 dc, pc st in next dc) repeat to corner, (pc st, ch 6, pc st) in corner shell, repeat from * around; join and fasten off.

Row 7: Join light blue and repeat Row 6, working between pc sts, and still making 2 pc sts separated by ch 6 in corners. Join and fasten off.

Row 8: Join white thread in first ch-3 lp at right of corner ch-6, * ch 20, sc in corner ch, (ch 20, sc in same ch) twice, ch 20, sc in next ch-3, (ch 20, sk next ch-3, sc in next ch) to corner; repeat from * around; join with sl st at base of beginning ch.

Row 9:
Corner: Sl st to centre of ch-20 lp, * ch 20, sc in same lp, ch 20, sc in next lp, (ch 20, sc in same lp) twice, ch 20, sc in next lp, (ch 20, sc in same lp) twice, ch 20, sc in next lp, ch 20, sc in same lp.
Side: (Ch 20, sc in next lp) to next corner, then repeat from * around; join at base of beginning ch and cut thread.

Small Piece:
Row 1: Join white in point of any petal on flower, ch 5, dc in same place, * ch 13, sc in centre of next petal, ch 13, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next petal (corner shell); repeat from * around; join to third st of ch-5.
Rows 2 through 9: Same as corresponding rows on large piece.
