Starting at the top (inside of purse), make
a chain about 9 inches long.
Rows 1:
2 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 dc, counting the turning ch as 1 dc), * skip 2
ch, sc in next ch, skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch (a shell). Repeat from *
across, ending row with skip 2 ch, sc in last ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2:
2 dc in last sc made in previous row, * skip 2 dc of next shell, sc in
next dc, 5 dc in next sc. Repeat from * across, ending row with sc between
last dc of half shell and turning ch. Ch 3, turn. Repeat the second row
until piece measures 13 1/2 inches in all. Fasten off.
Lay the crocheted piece on top of the
crinoline and cut around. Baste or sew the crinoline to the crocheted
piece. Sew one side of zipper across one short end on crinoline side. Cut
a piece of lining slightly larger than the crocheted piece and place over
crinoline. Fold into an envelope shape wrong side out and sew sides
neatly. Turn to right side, open the zipper and sew in place.
BUTTONLOOP: Ch 13, turn. Sl st in 2nd ch from
hook and in each ch across. Fasten off. Sew ends of this chain at center
of flap to make a loop for button. Sew on a button to correspond with
buttonloop.
