Starting at center with MC, ch 53 to measure
13 1/4 inches.
1st Rnd:
4 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 50 ch, 4 sc in last ch; working along
opposite side of starting chain, sc in next 50 ch - 108 sc.
Note: Do not join rnds.
2nd Rnd:
* Skip next sc, sc in next
sc, sc in skipped sc -
cross st made.
Repeat from * around - 54 cross sts.
3rd Rnd:
(Sc in next sc, sc in same place used when making first sc of previous
cross st - inc cross st made)
5 times; make cross sts across side to within other end; make 5 inc cross
sts across end, complete rnd in cross sts.
Next 4 Rnds:
Work in cross sts around, making 5 inc cross sts evenly spaces across each
end. At end of last rnd, break off and fasten.
With CC,
make 3 chains each 1 1/2 yards long. Starting at center of one rounded
end, lace one chain across one outer edge to center of opposite end as
illustrated. Lace second chain in same way across other edge. Lace third
chain through center of band. Trim chains evenly to same size on each
side. Tack chains together at 8 even intervals on each side.
Tassel:
Cut 6 strands each 3 inches long, draw through one end of chains and tie
securely around top. Make another tassel at opposite end of chains. Trim
evenly.
