Give a personalized envelope holding a special invitation or gift of
money. Use plain or printed fabric to suit the occasion. The envelope is
sewn together over a cardboard insert. If you wish, you may embroider a
name on the front, write in thin marker pen or attach a small tag by
thread to the strap so that the envelope may be used again.
Make the pattern as large or small as you wish.
Cut two pieces of each pattern.
Cut cardboard insert the same as the pattern but 1/2 inch smaller around
to allow for seams.
Place fabric only right sides together and sew seams leaving bottom seam
open to turn.
Clip curves and turn right side out.
Insert cardboard and fold where indicated.
Sew a single thread along fold lines.
Sew strap right sides together leaving one end open.
Turn right side out.
Sew the strap in the middle using invisible stitches on the sides.
