Monograms
Free Embroidery Instructions

Monograms are used to personalize your clothes and your belongings. Any type of printing may be used. First draw the letter or letters. The thick parts are padded with chain stitch as shown. Padding is concealed with closely made Satin Stitch.

Note: A form of monogramming in great vogue is to write out your name in your own handwriting on some garment and embroider it in outline or similar stitch.

Chain Stitch:

Holding work toward you, bring the thread up through the traced line and hold it down with the left thumb. Pass needle through the same place again and bring it out about 1/8 inch in front of previous stitch.
