An easy to crochet edging designed to lace a
ribbon through. Attach to linens or clothing hems for a pretty and
delicate effect.
Starting at narrow edge, ch 23.
Row 1: Dc in 8th ch from hook, (ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dc in next ch)
5 times. Ch 17, turn.
Row 2: Skip next 5 sps, dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dc in
next ch - this sp is worked for Heading. Ch 5, turn.
Row 3: Skip next 2 ch, dc in next dc, (ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dc in
next ch) 5 times. Ch 17, turn. Repeat last 2 rows alternately for desired
length, ending with 2nd row. Break off and fasten.
Edging: With right side facing,
attach thread to first space at opposite long edge as Heading, sc in same
place, * 7 dc in centre ch of next sp - shell made; sc in next sp. Repeat
from * across. Break off and fasten.
Sew narrow edges together. Starch lightly and press. Sew in place. Lace
ribbon through.
