A lovely ornament of flowers and leaves to make as a brooch, hair ornament, or decoration for purses, pockets and accessories. The flowers and leaves can be arranged in different ways.

The picture above has seven flowers in graduated sizes and eight leaves.

Twisted Stitches - 3 of the first half of the double and 3 of the last half of the double - this will be referred to as a set of sts

Stem is made by tatting (5 sets of sts, p) as many times as necessary to make a stem that is about 6 or 7 inches long. Turn and tat back making 5 sets, join to p, repeat back to the beginning of stem. Loop the end of this stem down about one inch and fasten. The first flower is fastened here.

Flower: Make a r of (2 dc, long p) 5 times, cl r, slip thread through first p, make 5 sets of twisted sts, join in next p, 5 more sets and continue around. Increase by 1 set of sts, for each additional petal lp, always join into the p of centre r. The size of the flower can be varied by the number of petal lps you make on each flower. The picture above had 10 petal rows on the largest flower and 5 on the smallest.

Leaf: Make a r of 2 ds, long p, 2 dc, cl r. Cut and tie, join thread in p, make 6 sets of sts, p, 6 sets of sts, join in p. Now increase one set of sts every time between joinings until you have the desired size of leaf.

Arrange flowers and leaves in similar fashion as shown in the picture and fasten with needle and thread or tie.
